This weekend

September 13, 2008 by jasonmcmurphy

Got some cool stuff going on at church tomorrow with Kingdom Kid’s kicking back up.  Hope everything goes well.  Should have pics up tomorrow night.

Spent 45 minutes trying to get gas last night.  That was so fun.  Kroger was all out of gas, which left Wal-Mart, trying to get gas before it went to $8.00 (which I heard actually happened in AR).  So when I finally get to the pump, then it took 20 minutes to pump out $20.00 of gas, lots of fun.  The really cool thing in the whole thing was sitting there while a little kid, 3 or 4 years old was singing along with his mother’s gospel CD.  That made it much easier to wait 20 minutes.  I was really touched by that.

Still waitning on hearing something about the job at work, I hate waiting.

I’ve got to put in a plug for http://www.noisetrade.com  There are not many places that give away free music, but this is one of them.  Listening to Phil Joel’s new cd that I downloaded right now.  Me likey free music.  Anybody else going to watch Michael Phelps tonight on Saturday Night Live, should be interesting.

Sunday stuff

We had a good service today- see http:/www.dolesumc.com I was really happy to hear that we had some people stepping up to have our children’s ministry get started again, here’s a logo that I put together for the program, and one for the youth as well

Now that we’re getting this going again, we’re hoping to attract families to the church, we have been getting more visitors coming, which is great, Sunday nights are going to be packed with stuff for the whole family, bible study for the adults, youth and kids programs.

Looking forward to a few days off from work with the boys, Amy is going to ATL for tommorow night to meet up with some friends.

Amy got a hit on her piano website we did for her, Hopefully, she’ll get more from this as well.

Chrome

Very cool, really liking this so far http://www.google.com/chrome

It seems to be loading things quicker and it takes away a lot of the junk.  Supposedly it runs javascript/etc better as well.  Google does it again it appears.  Time will tell over the long run, right now I give it two thumbs up.  I’ve been a firefox guy for a while, but this may change what I’m looking at

church updates and new website for Amy

August 31, 2008 by jasonmcmurphy

Today’s service was very well, the worship team is starting to gel, it’s really cool to see, we’re still looking for a bass guitarist and drummer for the services.  So the service can be seen at http://www.dolesumc.com

We did a website for Amy’s piano lessons, debating getting maconpianolessons.com eventually as well to link right to this site.  You can see it here Still working out a few things with it, but you’ll get the general idea.  We’ve got it linked up with her craigslist ad on the internet.

good Sunday

August 26, 2008 by jasonmcmurphy

It was a good Sunday, nice to see visitors and such there.  We had a great time praising and a challenging message, all you can ask out of a Sunday.  I’m anxious bout work, still waiting to hear something on the promotion.  Here’s the link to the website http://www.dolesumc.com

Thanks to all who gave their opinion on the website color, the blues win, although it was closer than I thought it would be.  I appreciate the feedback. Peace.

worst parents ever?

August 22, 2008 by jasonmcmurphy

I think the parents of this kid may have it sewn up.  Nothing like letting your kid realize their full potential.  Let me know what you think.  What are these parents thinking?

updates, updates, updates

Sunday’s service went well, Pastor Alan’s messages are always challenging.  We got to debut the new website on Sunday (http://www.dolesumc.com)  Got a lot of positive feedback, I’m hoping its going to be a usesful tool for reaching the community.  It’s been great, we’ve got new visitors again.

We got Josiah’s test results for CRCT, it’s standarized tests.  All of the kids have to take them.  Josiah scored perfect on almost everything.  He only missed two questions on the whole thing.  The assistant principal said that he may be one of the smartest kids in the school district for his grade.  Definitely proud of him and John-David who is doing really well in school as well.

I’ve been in the midst of a temporary job situation at work, helping doing coaching for new associates.  I’ve applied for a position to do this type of work permanent, it would be the first step transitioning into supervising.  Should know something tomorrow.  I’m very excited.

Lots of exicitng stuff going on right now.
