Have to redo our church website as our current host is going dark as of the end of August.  Website building has become a little bit of a hobby for me, but sometimes its really frustrating, especially having to start over on something you had worked on already, I’m up for the challenge though, so that’s what I’ll be up to for the next month

VBS

We finished VBS last night, didn’t get to go to all of the nights because of work, but the times I did get to go were great.  Amy was in charge and did a great job.  She was also helped by our friend Stephanie on a lot of the work that needed to be done. She worked really hard, check out this banner she and Stephanie made:

I was very impressed.  Anyways, everything went very well with the VBS.  Lots of fun and the kids learned a lot.

Anybody else find it weird?

And by weird I mean creepy, when people you don’t know make sounds at your kids.  Usually this involves old men, like yesterday, I’m in the grocery store with the boys and some old guy we’ve never met before made an animal noise at the boys.  I mean its cool if we know the person and they have a relationship with us, but come on, if its not weird, then why don’t we all go around making noises at each other.

Guess I’m getting old

I was told that by somebody tonight, true enough.  This is the first year that I’ve had back issues, just a few times, this happens to be one of those times.  So, I’m sitting here waiting on the pain medicine to kick in, thinking that I’ll be turning the big 3 oh in less than a year now.  Weird how time flies, when do you look at yourself and go, I’m not young anymore?

Today was great, we had a good service in the morning and then  VBS was really fun for the kids, my boys loved it.  Here a couple of pictures from the vbs, and we’ll have a video up tomorrow probably.

my kids are perfect, yours are not

Well something like that anyways.  Took the boys to see a movie today, a special thing at our local theater for 2 bucks.  They got popcorn and a drink and saw a movie.  Pretty cool.  So we get there a little early and are getting ready for the movie, now once it actually starts the boys are doing great, eating their pocorn and watching the movies.  So too perfect of a moment I think to myself and sure enough here comes the local summer camps in, with one teacher for 30 kids.  Kids are running into the back of my head, talking loud, typical kid stuff.  I’m looking around going, glad my boys know how to behave (a little sarcastic)  They have been totally like these other kids at times as well.  But, I really love my kids though and we had a great time.

summer

There’s something about summer that is exciting.  A lot of it for me still goes back to childhood.  No school, the pool, movies, lots of fun.  I remember going during the summer to see movies in the theater, anybody else see Hook in the theater?  Those are good memories.  Now I have boys to share the memories with now.  Summer is great.
